Since the time of the Buddha, the generosity of community members has enabled the Buddha’s teachings to be shared freely with all who wish to hear them, regardless of individual financial circumstances. Today the tradition of dana, which means generosity in the Pali language, continues to be foundational for our teachers and our community.
At our Monday Night Sitting Group (MNSG) a dana bowl is placed out to receive offerings people may feel moved to make. Those who wish to use e-transfers to offer dana can do so by email at RIMCdana@gmail.com. Please use the ‘message’ section to indicate the intended recipient of your donation. All offerings matter and are deeply appreciated.
Meeting the sangha’s expenses: Our teachers receive the dana offered on the Monday nights they lead. When peer leaders share the dharma, any dana received is for RIMC’s expenses, currently about $250.00 monthly. We invite those who can manage it to consider offering a small amount each month to support the sangha. This can be done through post-dated cheques to RIMC, Box 1019, Lumsden, Sk, SOG 3CO or by e-transfer to RIMCdana@gmail.com.
