Our Teachers

Jeanne Corrigal, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan’s first accredited Vipassana teacher, is now our guiding teacher in RIMC. We are grateful she accepted this invitation and deeply appreciate her inclusive mentoring. Jeanne’s vision is to wrap our whole lives and community with the dharma and she has worked to create a larger Prairie Dharma Community, connecting the 3 prairie provinces.

Jeanne is a graduate of the 2017-2021 IMS teacher training program. She has trained primarily in the Burmese lineage of Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw, with a great affinity for the Thai Forest Tradition of Ajahn Buddhadasa and for the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. She has taught with Mindfulness Magazine, Lion’s Roar and Tricycle’s online programs, and teaches across North America. She is Metis, and one of her first teachers in loving presence was Cree Elder Jim Settee.

Jeanne believes, “[t]here are many paths in our collective journey. Beginners and experienced practitioners all support each other, in spiritual friendship. We are fortunate to be together in the practice, in these times.”

We feel blessed to have her guidance and support.

Fran Gilboy is first and foremost an enthusiastic student of the Dharma. She brings a grounded and heartfelt presence to her practice and teaching, cultivated over 29 years of study. She is a graduate of several programs at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, including the Community Dharma Leader (CDL) program, and honours the many teachers who have guided her path, especially her first teacher, Sharda Rogell. She continues her studies through Dharma Ground, with Dana DePalma as her primary teacher.

Fran has taught mindful movement for over 20 years and Insight Meditation for the past 14. She is co-founder and facilitator, alongside La Sarmiento, of the Five Remembrances Sangha, and serves as guiding community teacher for North Star Sangha in Regina.

She occasionally teaches at the Monday night weekly meditation gatherings for Regina Insight Meditation and led a non-residential retreat for the community, A Sacred Pause, in October 2025.
